An RPC must be therefore able to evacuate the charge from the system at a rate 1/τ comparable to the avalanche rate r (τ is the relaxation time of the resistive material). The dependence with r can be evaluated after the initial transitory phase by resorting to the Ohm law in electrostatic equilibrium (DC situation):

High granularity, symmetric differential readout - timing multigap RPC
In this contribution we report the results of R&D activity concentrated on the development of a multigap RPC prototype with strip readout for high counting rate and high multiplicity environment as it is required by the low polarangle region of CBM-TOF detector. In order to cope with the strong counting rate requirements of the inner part of the CBM-TOF wall (∼ 2x10 part.·cm−2·s−1 ), we built f...
متن کاملApplication of multifractal modeling for separation of sulfidic mineralized zones based on induced polarization and resistivity data in the Ghare-Tappeh Cu deposit, NW Iran
The aim of this study was to identify various sulfidic mineralized zones in the Ghare-Tappeh Cu deposit (NW Iran) based on geo-electrical data including induced polarization (IP) and resistivity (RS) using the concentration-volume (C-V) and number-size (N-S) fractal models. The fractal models were used to separate high and moderate sulfidic zones from low sulfidic zones and barren wall rocks. B...
متن کاملLow bias electron scattering in structure-identified single wall carbon nanotubes: role of substrate polar phonons.
We have performed temperature-dependent electrical transport measurements on known structure single wall carbon nanotubes at low bias. The experiments show a superlinear increase in nanotube resistivity with temperature, which is in contradiction with the linear dependence expected from nanotube acoustic-phonon scattering. The measured electron mean free path is also much lower than expected, e...
متن کاملNegative Domain Wall Contribution to the Resistivity of Microfabricated Fe Wires
The effect of domain walls on electron transport has been investigated in microfabricated Fe wires (0.65 to 20 mm linewidths) with controlled stripe domains. Magnetoresistance (MR) measurements as a function of domain wall density, temperature, and the angle of the applied field are used to determine the low field MR contributions due to conventional sources in ferromagnetic materials and that ...
متن کاملDesign and Implementation of the Read Out Controller for the GET4 TDC of the CBM ToF Wall Prototype
The Time of Flight detector of the CBM experiment will assemble about 12 500 GET4 ASICs [1]. Those chips give a very precise timestamp (resolution better than 25 ps) to detected hits and then deliver the data (24 bits/hit) via a serial LVDS link to the Read Out Controller (ROC). At the moment, the FPGA of one ROC interfaces up to 14 GET4 chips. However, the current hardware allows up to 28 GET4...
